The new year gives each of us the opportunity to reflect back on events of the past year – what we did well and where we have an opportunity to grow. As individuals, this might look like a new workout regimen or the promise to read more.

At A Woman’s Work, the Board and Staff spend time doing the same kind of reflection. 2016 was a year of many successes for AWW: we had some of our highest attended and highest grossing fundraisers ever, we continued to implement procedures and infrastructure in our office to ensure we are doing things as efficiently as possible, and we connected with more individual donors than ever before. All of these successes enabled us to help women in our community – we gave over $220,000 to almost 180 women in 2016! What a difference we are making in the lives of these women and their families!
The need continues to grow, though, so our Board has set ambitious fundraising and giving goals for 2017, so that we can continue to help even more women who need us. Our Outreach Committee continues to reach out to professional partners so that individuals who need our help can access it. We also will be hiring an Event Coordinator soon to help us build capacity. We are doing all of these things so that we can better serve the St. Vrain Valley community.

Thanks to all of you – our donors, volunteers, and champions! Our successes of 2016 wouldn’t have been possible without you. We hope you will join us in 2017 as we work to help women in our community who have nowhere else to turn when crisis strikes.
