Volunteers Are The Heart of AWW

We couldn’t help as many local women without our dedicated team of volunteers. Whether it’s helping at an event, stuffing envelopes, or volunteering at the Fabulous Finds Outlet, it’s our volunteers that make us thrive. We have ongoing volunteer opportunities for retail support at the Fabulous Finds Outlet store and seasonal needs for event committee members, event preparation and day support, and mailings/office support. AWW strives to make our volunteer options fun, rewarding, and collaborative. Check out the Volunteer Positions & Descriptions below for more information.

Would you like to volunteer? We would love to have you join us! To become a volunteer, you must:

  • Complete the volunteer application below
  • Be interviewed by the AWW Staff or Board of Directors to determine you interest, abilities, schedule, and our volunteer needs
  • Complete volunteer orientation and sign the volunteer agreement
  • Attend training specific to your volunteer position

Volunteer Qualifications:

  • Able to represent AWW in a friendly, ethical, mature, and professional manner
  • Honest and reliable – arrive on time or call ahead if you are unable to come as scheduled
  • Protect any AWW confidential information
  • Physically able to be on your feet, as needed, some tasks more than others
  • Log your volunteer hours online on our volunteer portal

Volunteer Positions & Descriptions

Would you like to help AWW with the planning of one of our seasonal fundraising events? Our events provide a way for us to connect with the community, our donors and of course, raise funds. We have annual “signature events” that include two major events, Evening of Great Tastes (spring) and the Anniversary Luncheon (fall), or one of our smaller events.

Co-Chair Responsibilities:

  • Reviews and understands the fundraising goals in conjunction with AWW staff
  • Recruits additional committee members
  • Helps determine the event theme along with AWW staff
  • Schedules committee meetings and develops agendas with input from members
  • Chairs committee meetings, records & files minutes
  • Acts as a contact for committee members – delegates tasks and tracks status
  • Reports committee progress to the board

Member Responsibilities:

  • Attend and participates in meetings
  • Participate on an event sub-committee (food/beverage, décor, silent/live auction, etc.)
  • Assist in requesting in-kind donations for auctions
  • Complete tasks on time and provides updates to Co-Chairs
  • Assist with event set-up, clean-up, and / or provide support during event

Requirements/Skills:

  • Ability to organize events
  • Ability to communicate clearly
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Polite and professional manner
  • Ability to use technology (silent / live auction)

Time Commitment:

  • Attend 2 in-person meetings (Kickoff meeting – 2 to 3 months out from event, Planning meeting – 2 months out).
  • Participate in approximately 2-4, hour sub-committee meetings
    • Ex. silent auction subcommittee – approx. 4 meetings
      • 1- meet to compile / review list of committed in-kind items,
      • 2 – review received items and determine any additional items needed
      • 3 – organize items, number, and finalize details in the auction tool
      • 4 – pack-up and move items to event location.
  • Attend event

List of Responsibilities:

  • Event set-up – prior to and/or on day of event
  • Registration & check-out support (requires computer skills)
  • Silent Auction support – assist with questions, running of invoices, packaging up items
  • Event clean-up – responsibilities are dependent on the event, however may include putting away tables / chairs, clean up of items left on tables, packaging up of silent auction items, etc.)

Requirements/Skills:

  • Ability to communicate clearly
  • Polite and professional manner
  • Ability to use technology (silent / live auction)
  • Ability to stand and/or lift 25 lbs.

Time Commitment:

  • Ranges from 4-8 hours on day of event

Location:

TBD – depending on event

With a small staff, AWW has administrative support tasks from time to time that including stuffing envelopes for one of our fundraising appeals to printing out reports and more. This area of volunteer support is requested as needed.

List of Responsibilities:

  • Mailing support – collating printed mailings, addressing envelopes
  • General administrative support

Requirements/Skills:

  • Ability to follow directions
  • Ability to use technology (administrative support)

Time Commitment:

1-3 hours – varies depending on need

Location:

AWW Office – 2204 18th Ave, Longmont, CO 80501

From time to time, we need a little help to run around the community and pick-up or drop off auction items, printed materials, or posters at local businesses. This need is primarily greatest around events.

Requirements/Skills:

  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to drive around the St. Vrain Valley area – primarily Longmont

Varies depending on need
